Holy Day Greetings from HomeWorship 101™

“…The feasts of the Lord,
which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations,
these are My feasts.”
- Leviticus 23:1

“These are the feasts of the Lord,
holy convocations
which you shall proclaim at their appointed times.” - vs.4.

The fall season of YHWH’s Holy Days will soon begin. The above verse clearly states that these are YHWH’s Holy Days not just Jewish Holidays, and that we are to proclaim them at the “appointed times”. YHWH shows us the appointed times by the moon’s first sighting of light after the new moon comes out of its dark phase, technically called the waxing crescent moon. Some call it the fingernail moon. It is first visible as a very thin crescent shape, with its two points facing up and left. It does not hang around all night; it comes up quick at sundown and then disappears after a short while. The 7^th new moon signals the start of the Holy Day season and is estimated to be visible on Sept. 28^th, making the date of the first Holy Day of the fall season called the Day of Trumpets Sept. 29^th. Estimated means we need to watch for confirmation then we can set the dates for the other Holy Days of the 7^th month. Preprinted calendars are figured mathematically and sometimes can be wrong. Consequently the people will miss their Sacred “appointed time” with their CREATOR. Some would say, “…what’s the big deal, so I am a day or two off…” but the “appointed time” is important to YHWH and that makes it important to me. Do we follow man’s ‘holidays,’ or YHWH’s “Holy Convocations” at HIS “appointed times?” Yahshua illustrates the concept in His parable of the Ten Virgins (Mat.25:1-13).

All glory goes to our CREATOR.

The new moon is rich in our CREATOR’S spiritual symbolism. The new moon day, the 1^st day of the month, is mentioned 80 times in the Bible. The 14^th and 15^th days are mentioned 19 and 13 times, and the 21^st day is also important. In the Bible YHWH visited with HIS Prophets on these days. Unfortunately most of the Faithful haven’t got a clue. I often wonder: Is it the laity who does not want to learn, or the priests who do not want to teach? As the Faithful know, YHWH establishes, and HIS Messiah fulfills. When Yahshua/Jesus returns He will fulfill these Holy Days, then all the world will worship YHWH on HIS true Holy Days (Isa.66:23; Ezk.46:6-11) – not just the Jews. Many Christians are just learning about, and starting to celebrate, the Biblical Holy Days, and there are many excellent reasons to do so. In this year’s newsletters I have been teaching the basics of YHWH’s Holy Days and highlighting the major world-changing events as one big 8-act stage play in the greatest Spiritual Opera of all time. At the end of the Holy Day Season I’ll publish all the newsletters as one PDF file.

There are higher spiritual mysteries but there are no secrets. YHWH’s annual Holy Days are ancient spiritual keys to a timeless treasure trove of our CREATOR'S Wisdom. YHWH is trying to help us, and in HIS infinite wisdom HE designed the Holy Days to have many in-depth and multilevel meanings, all with perfect symmetry leading to one place - HIS Kingdom. They have historical lessons - which we should honor by their remembrance. They teach current day character building lessons - which we should learn. They teach us health lessons for the mind and body to improve our daily lives. They are a “shadow of things to come” as they picture a prophetic, Messianic message of hope. They are future prophecies of human catastrophes with many on a planetary scale (Col.2:16-17) - which we all should watch for.

Mostly, faith has evolved into spectator event, where the clergy perform and the laymen observe. Sunday service is nothing but a religious production, and the church buildings with their bigger is better design have more of a country club mentality then mirroring the early church. Jew or Christian, the similarities run the same, the Faithful have forgotten that YHWH’s Holy Days in Leviticus ch.23 are not just religious obligations; they are a treasure trove of our CREATOR'S Wisdom. Through the spiritual opera of the Holy Days HE is trying to help us understand HIS plan for humanity and HE wants us to actively participate.

Respect is what we owe,
Love is what we give.

YHWH’s Holy Convocations are hands on! They are designed to encourage the individual Believer to actively participate and in-turn gives us a place in HIS Universe. It is a time to put the daily drone of our material pursuits aside, and take a day to honor, learn, and pay respect unto our CREATOR. We show love and respect for our Heavenly FATHER, through study, thanksgiving, songs of praise and dance, and joyous feasting with friends and family. This in turn will strengthen your mind, body and spirit.

The Believers are commanded to grow in knowledge and grace (2Pet.3:18), to be a living sacrifice…, transformed by the renewing of your mind… (Rom.12:1-2). The Holy Days are a personal, spirit-training, series of Heavenly lessons, with subtle instructions that picture a greater spiritual truth. They repeat every year, lest we forget, to teach understanding, to all - men, women and children - that our CREATOR is still in control of the Heavenly Powers of the Universe and HIS promises will be fulfilled.

YHWH’S Holy Days address the mind, body, and spirit, by disposing of your demons through reflection and afflicting your soul, to have a change of heart and repent. They connect us to a Heavenly timetable - signs to watch - and they give us hope for the future, and a place in YHWH’s universe. They put us spiritually in control and encourage us to: live-learn-and grow - HONORABLY!

Just as any skilled professional is required to take additional training or annual refresher courses, these Holy Days are the annual spiritual refresher courses designed by our CREATOR, for all of HIS Believers to practice their spiritual training and maintain a high level of performance - lest we forget and lose our way.

YHWH is not a burden but a blessing, and the concern is not for mandatory ritualism, but understanding the truth for which it stands, and this understanding greatly enhances our faith. For the Faithful, the Holy Days are a joyous time because they symbolize YHWH’s promises being fulfilled. All the Holy Days together picture YHWH’S grand majestic design of the unfolding spiritual events, affecting all humanity - that is why it is meaningful to pass on HIS teachings to others (Heb.9:10; Rom.7:6). The early Christians were Believers, and therefore already saved. The observance is not done for salvation - but of love and respect for our CREATOR and we celebrate HIS Covenant with us (1Jno.5:3). YHWH’s Faithful, especially the Messianic Faithful, are admonished to watch. To watch for YHWH’s Heavenly signs (Luk21:36), and watching for the sign of the 7^th New Moon is a very important spiritual sign. Some believe that this is the day the Messiah will return for His Bride, but I believe they are mistaken. The snatching away of the Bride is a surprise, and as we all know, no one but the FATHER knows when the Bridegroom will return for His Bride (Mat.24:36; 1Ths.4:13-18). Because of the suffering humankind must endure during the Tribulation era, YHWH give us solid hints as to when the Conquering Messiah will return, and HIS Two Prophets will be relaying the same message (Rev.12:6). The Bride should be aware of this because she will be returning with Him (Rev.2:26-27, 3:21).

“Keep the traditions just as I delivered them to you.”

We do not observe the Holy Day season as a requirement of salvation. First and foremost, we observe them because Yahshua and the Apostles did. We observe them, for those who can see, because they teach humanity about our CREATOR’S Kingdom. In the spring season Holy Days newsletter I covered some of multi-faceted meanings of YHWH’s annual Holy Days, and they also had prophetic meaning until they were fulfilled in the life of Yahshua, now the fall Feasts are loaded with prophetic spiritual symbolism, which we await for their fulfillment. This next series of Holy Days celebrate prophecy, as they are loaded with dual prophetic meaning beginning with the conquering Messiah and leading to our final reward from YHWH. They draw our attention to the soon to be fulfilled prophecies of the conquering Messiah and His promised future Millennium Kingdom (Rev.20:1-6). And when the Millennium rule is finished the prophecies show us YHWH’s final Judgment Day and our final reward as we enter our promised eternal life in New Jerusalem (Rev.20:11-15; ch 21-22). Here is a simple outline of the theme of the fall Holy Days:
On the 1st day of the 7th new moon righteousness finally conquers evil.
On the 10th day of the 7th month is Divine Judgment Day.
On the 15th day of the 7th month the promise of eternal life is fulfilled.
Many still refuse to allow Bible facts
to get in the way of their traditions.

Please understand, these are NOT Jewish holidays. These are universal Biblical – YHWH’S – Hebrew Holy Days, teaching universal spiritual lessons. The Ancient Israelites were almost always at war with their neighbors and they developed a kind of circle the wagons mentality. As a result they took these Holy Days hostage – so to speak, and covered them with Jewish tradition, which covered their original meaning. Then what happens is that ritual of the tradition becomes more important then the spiritual lessons our CREATOR was trying to teach the world. This was the root cause of many of the Gospel controversies (Mar.7:8).

For example, the first day of this season is called the Day of Trumpets, Yom Teru’ah, or the Day of the LORD, Joel 1:15, 3:14. Jewish religion calls it Rosh Ha Shanah, which means the head of the New Year. The trouble is the Torah/Biblical New Year starts in the spring (Exo.12.2), not in the fall on the 7^th month. In the time of ancient Israel, many of their pagan neighbors had their new year’s celebrations in the fall, so the ancient Israelites played the get-along game and called this Holy Day of the 7^th month, their New Years Day, “a day of new beginnings,” and the tradition continues today. This is ancient political correctness because this dark-ruled world does not like any talk of the coming Messiah so the original meaning of the Day of Elohim has been hidden and mostly forgotten. It is “a day of new beginning,” when the Messiah arrives, but unfortunately you will not hear the Jews even whisper behind closed doors, anything of a coming Messiah on this day. After Christ, as the Christian church grew, the controversies of separating Jewish tradition from GOD’s commands continued (Act.15:1-36). The result was that as the Christian church drifted west it developed its own holidays and traditions. In Christianity, as it so is in Judaism, there are many inconsistencies between what the Bible teaches, and what is actually taught and practiced – Satan has been busy (Gal.1:8; Col.2:18; 2Cor.11:14).

Prophecy is YHWH’s way of telling you HE is in charge. Think about it, YHWH, our CREATOR, established the spring Holy Days of Passover, the days of Unleavened Bread, the Day of Firsfruits, and Pentecost – and HIS Messiah, Yahshua, fulfilled all the Messianic prophecies exactly to YHWH’S new moon calendar. What makes you think He (Yahshua) will not fulfill the prophecies of fall season of Holy Days when YHWH deems it so?

The Messiah, sent by our FATHER, has two missions: The rejected-suffering Messiah to cancel the debt of sin; and the conquering / ruling Messiah to cancel the evil chaos that rules this world (Isa.53:3-6, 9:6-7). It is an interesting coincidence that Yahshua, exactly fulfilled the mission of the suffering Messiah in the early-spring season of Biblical Holy Days (Lev.23:4-22). He was crucified on Passover, buried on the Days of Unleavened Bread, and rose on the Day of Firstfruits. On the Day of Pentecost, He fulfilled another Covenant promise by giving us the Holy Spirit (Act.ch.2).

This year, with the movie 2012, there has been much attention to end-of-the-world prophecy. Then there were the members of the Family Radio network run by the group's leader, 89-year-old Harold Camping, who have given up jobs, families, all their possessions, and spent millions of dollars on a final mission to proclaim the apocalypse on May 21, 2011. They call themselves 'ambassadors', and the church members point to baffling biblical codes to demonstrate their reasoning. They believe those in Jesus will be carried into heaven, while the rest of humanity will endure 153 days of 'death and horror' before the world ends on October 21. Despite his current prediction, Camping has already predicted the world would end before - on September 4 1994. That, he says, the mistake was a misreading of the biblical codes used to decipher the exact date of the 'rapture.' This year when nothing happened he says he made another mistake in his mathematics and now says it is Oct 21, 2011. What is even worse is that hundreds of Hmong Christians are said to have been gunned down and murdered by security forces in Vietnam after the group had came out of their secret house churches and gathered in public near a mountain to await the rapture and return of Jesus Christ. Oy vey, this has been the problem with prophesy preachers all through time. They really do not understand what they are talking about and it makes the study of prophecy look bad, and along the way gets many people killed – Satan has been busy.

The fall Holy Days will be starting soon and they draw our attention to prophecy. Over the summer I have updated my “Tribulation Prophecies and YHWH’s Holy Days” article and published it as a pdf. document available as a free download. I have added some information on the Canaanite Festivals, which have many similarities to YHWH’s Holy Days and predate the Torah, and how I believe Satan will use to them pervert YHWH’s Holy Days. ~ The Pre-Opera Lecture ~

The Day of Trumpets

Proclaim · Pray · Praise

He who has an ear, let him hear…

Estimated for Wednesday night, the 7th new moon will rise (evening of Sept.28, and it will begin the early-fall season of the Biblical Holy Days (Lev.23:23-36).

The day is announced with the shrill sound of the shofar or trumpet. The last Biblical Holy Day was in June, and since then it has been a long season of day-to-day routines. Now the startling blasts of the shofar are humanities spiritual wake-up call. It has been a long summer and long intermission in YHWH’s Spiritual Opera since the last Hoy Day of Pentecost. The spiritual parable to this long growing season is compared to the long growing season of the Age of Grace - the time between the appearances of the suffering and conquering Messiahs. In this age the true Believers are unique because we believe without seeing (John 20:29). Think about it, from the time of the Angels to Adam and Eve the creation immediately knew their CREATOR after they were created. When this world came into sin, it caused a separation between the CREATOR and the Creation. YHWH is now at a distance, and the true test of the Faithful is that they believe without seeing, thus making this time period very important because YHWH needs as many true believers as possible. It’s a big universe out there, and YHWH has plans for our future.

The world is already into the fourth act of a spiritual opera that, in my humble opinion, is headed toward its inevitable conclusion. During this long growing season of this Age of Grace the Faithful are to be learning the spiritual mysteries of YHWH and growing to be a better person, HIS knowledge renews our spirits and transforms us. Unfortunately Satan hates YHWH’s true knowledge and does what he can to suppress it. History shows a long bloody trail of those Faithful souls who teach, study, and promote pure Biblical teachings (see Foxe’s Book of the Myters for more info), now before the advent of the conquering Messiah the bloodshed will intensify because Satan knows his time is growing shorter.

Satan has a plan and if he cannot get the world to worship him as god, then he is thinking scorched earth policy. Scriptures have many warnings of this most horrible time in humanities future, which is the last 3 1/2 years of the seven-year Tribulation era just before the advent of the return of the Messiah. It is called: The time of Jacob’s Trouble, Jer.30:7. The Prophet Daniel 12:1 says this time, “Such as never was since there was a nation…” And Yahshua already warned humanity in Matthew 24:21, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

During the summer of the Antichrist’s third year of reign it would seem that his scorched earth policy is about to be fulfilled. The planet is having an environmental meltdown (Rev.16:3-11, 17-21; Mat.24:22, 29) and society is in financial and spiritual disarray. The world’s armies are staging for the final showdown in Jerusalem (Joel 3:1-2; Rev.11:18, 19:19). The Antichrist is sitting in the Temple in Jerusalem playing god. The Jews know they have made a mistake, and are fleeing persecution. No nation in the west is able to stand against him, but there is one army that makes the Antichrist nervous, they are the Kings of the East (Dan.11:44). The Far Eastern nations, Japan, China, India, etc., have seen enough, and the combined armies of Kings of the East, march to Jerusalem to make war with the Antichrist, beginning the third attack on Israel (Rev.16:12-16). Satan and his dark minions have done their work well, if this war begins they will destroy the earth, humanity, and everything on it.

The Conquering Messiah…

The early-fall season of Holy Days will begin with that great and terrible…
“…day of the LORD…”
- Joel 1:15
"In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
and the one who is feeble among them in that day will be like David,
and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the Lord before them.
And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations
that come against Jerusalem."
- Zechariah 12:8-9

In the end times two prophets will appear (Rev.11:1-14), and if you heard them say, “the Messiah will appear on the 7th new moon, at the 3rd hour,” would you know what they are talking about? Most know that the Messiah will make His long awaited worldwide appearance at the end of the Tribulation period. It will be a horrible time for the earth and humanity, and those who know Biblical prophecy will be counting the days (Rev.12:6). Today we are not yet at the end of the tribulation era, but for those who can see, we watch for the signs and learn their higher spiritual lessons.

The 1st day of the 7th month, (Sept.29^th, estimated) is called the Day of Trumpets (Hebrew: Yom Teru’ah – Day of Shouting), blow the shofar or the trumpet! It is the time to celebrate the prophecies of the future Kingdom, and it is humanities spiritual wake up call to the unfolding spiritual events!

Today some say, "The messiah never came, but will someday appear!"
Some others say, "The Messiah came, and will come again!"
.
It seems the one thing that all Believers in our CREATOR can agree on is:
THAT THE MESSIAH IS COMING!!!
“Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.
And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True,
and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
His eyes were like a flame of fire,
and on His head were many crowns.
He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood,
and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean,
followed Him on white horses.”
- Revelation 19:1-14

The Jews, Christians, Muslims, and many religions look for the coming Redeemer who will conquer evil and usher in a kingdom of peace and justice. Unfortunately the worlds' armies, gathered to fight each other in Jerusalem, will look at the Messiah as a common enemy, and unite their armies against Him (Rev.19:19).

When the Messiah’s Heavenly Army descends to Earth, we can only speculate as to what they will be thinking at that moment. They will probably say that He is an extraterrestrial who is coming to conquer the planet. There have been many battles fought in history called Armageddon. After approximately 6,000 years of spiritual warfare, this is the real one, the decisive battle between good and evil. Although this day is really called the Day of the Lord in the Bible (Joel 1:15), it is commonly known as the Battle of Armageddon and it will make all the other battles seem pale in comparison.

Unless the Messiah comes to Earth and intervenes in the affairs of man, no human would be saved alive (Mat.24:22). He comes to destroy the destroyers! Unfortunately, the Antichrist and his member nations will be angry with His coming, and their military forces will attempt to destroy Him in Jerusalem (Rev.11:18, 19:19). "These will wage war against the Lamb,
and the Lamb will overcome them,
because He is Lord of lords and King of kings,
and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful."
- Revelation 17:14

Yahshua the Messiah, will return riding a Heavenly White Horse, with His Heavenly Army to supernaturally vanquish the evil forces (Rev.19:11-21). The book of Zechariah 14:1-8, written in 520 B.C.E., describes the Messiah descending from the heavens. He will descend to Earth and set foot on the Mount of Olives, opposite the Temple Mount. Then a great earthquake will split the earth from the Dead Sea in the east through the Mount of Olives to the Mediterranean Sea in the west.

In spite of all the Heavenly warnings, the earthly armies want war. To confront the so-called alien space invaders, they will join forces and march southward into the valley of Jehoshaphat (Joel 3:1-2). Today it’s called the Kindron Valley. It is a deep valley that borders Jerusalem on the East between the city and the Mount of Olives. The true Hebrew meaning of the word Jehoshaphat, is the “Judgment of the ETERNAL.” Those nations armies - gathered together for their great battle - have just entered into the valley of their Divine Judgment.

“I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat.
Then I will enter into judgment with them there,
on behalf of My people and My inheritance,
Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations;
And they have divided up My land.”
- Joel 3:2

From the Mount of Olives Yahshua will destroy the worlds armies that have united against Him (Rev.17:14). The battle will occur in stages over the course of several days involving hundreds of millions of soldiers (Zec.12:2-11). Zechariah 14:12 gives a graphic account of the battle, "And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths." Does this description sound familiar? Think back to what happened in the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark" when the Germans finally raised the lid on the Ark of the Covenant.

When the battle is over, Yahshua will call the nations of the world to Judgment.

The Return of YHWH…

“Now when the thousand years have expired,
Satan will be released from his prison
and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth,
Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle,
whose number is as the sand of the sea.
They went up on the breadth of the earth
and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city.
And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.”
- Revelation 20:7-9

And on this day, sometime in the future, after the thousand years are finished, the shofar’s blast will announce the imminent Judgment of YHWH. Prophecy tells us that after the Millennium rule of the Messiah, Satan will be released one more time to tempt the citizens of the Millennium Kingdom. These people are blessed with 1,000 years of universal peace, prosperity, and happiness (Jer.31:12-14; Jon.10:10; 3Jon.2), yet many people of Millennium Kingdom will abandon their righteous and true historic teachings, to join the dark side – go figure.

Here we go again, just as it was before the advent of the return of the conquering Messiah, Satan will seduce a great part of humanity and turn them into martyrs of misinformation as they once again make war against righteousness. The climatic moment will be when Satan’s forces once again will be staged around Jerusalem to destroy it and its defenders. At that point, YHWH will return to Earth, stop the warring factions in the last great battle between good and evil (Rev.20:7-9), and begin the preparations for the final Great White Throne Judgment.

When the battle is over, YHWH will call all humanity (dead and alive) to Judgment.

~ Closing Comment ~

YHWH’s promise that HE will send a Messiah to save humanity from the curse of sin was one of the first promises HE made to Adam and Eve. YHWH restated it again to Noah, then to Moses, and to King David, it is a Covenant promise that YHWH has reminded us of many times in Scriptures. Make-no-mistake, Yahshua of Nazareth was the only man to fulfill to the letter over 200 Scriptural prophecies, many were predicted some 1,000 years in advance of His life. Every single prophecy of the suffering messiah was precisely fulfilled by the life of Yahshua, in a literal, common sense way, culminating in YHWH’s spring season of Holy Days. Still awaiting fulfillment are over 300 New Testament prophecies of Yahshua's second coming as the Conquering/Redeeming Messiah ready to be played out in the fall season of Holy Days. YHWH already clearly demonstrated that HE keeps HIS Covenant promises, the only question remains, will you?

~ Be a New Moon Spotter ~

The first order of observing the Holy Days is to know when. The sighting of the 7^th new moon is important because all the other Holy Days are based on it. The Holy Day dates I quote come from reliable eyewitnesses to the first visible new moon in Jerusalem (the printed calendars are figured mathematically and may be off by a day or two too). For the do-it-yourselfer, one can check the new moon sighting from anywhere in the Internet universe.

(1) An easy way to check the moon phase is to log on to my web page, http://www.homeworship101.com/holy_days_timekeeping&calendar.htm, scroll down about half way and look for the current moon phase module on the right side of the page.

(2) Or, on the bottom of my web pages in the Bible Study Tools section, click the solar phase link, or http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Earth/action?opt=-p, to see when the evening shadow falls over Jerusalem. When it does, click the moon phase link, or http://www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/uncgi/Earth/action?opt=-m&img=Moon.evif, to see the phase of the moon.

It takes about 2-4% “waxing” moon to be seen by the Faithful from the ground, and that determines the first day of YHWH’s lunar month.
