fyi: The Blood Moon

Set your alarm: Early Tuesday morning on August 28^th, beginning at 5:52 am EDT, there's going to be a colorful, total eclipse of the Moon.  The reports say that the moon will hang eerily in the night sky like a dark, reddish-orange coal.

Lunar eclipses occur when the Earth passes between the sun and the moon, blocking the sun's light. It is a rare event because the moon spends most of its time either above or below the plane of Earth's orbit.

Although it will pass completely under Earth's shadow, light from the sun will still reach the moon after being refracted off the earth.  The amount of dust in our atmosphere adds color to the light refracted back to the moon giving it the eerie dark reddish glow.  Enjoy the heavenly show; lunar eclipses are safe to watch with the naked eye or binoculars.  But be aware…

"When the moon is in eclipse, it is a bad omen for Israel...

In ancient times, the phenomenon of the Blood Moon was seen as an omen of disaster.  It is interesting to note, that this is the second Blood Moon this year.  The first one was on March 3 just before YHWH’s new year and the start of the spring season of Holy Days.  If you have been paying attention to the news, then you know since then, all around the world, there has been extreme rain, floods & tornadoes, drought, heat & fires, volcanoes & earthquakes, and much loss of life.  And if that’s not enough, there is the financial and political unrest, and religious wars are on the rise.  It would seem that the first omen of disaster is living up to its dark reputation.

Now on August 28 just before the 7^th new moon and the start of YHWH’s early fall season of Holy Days, the second Blood Moon will appear.  Prophecy says there will be a Blood Moon at the coming of Christ, and Christ will return on the first day of the 7^th new moon - an interesting spiritual coincidence this year.  Personally, I do not think the Messiah is returning at next month’s new moon (the Tribulation era has yet to be accomplished, and the sun has to go dark too, which is not going to happen), but I do wonder with uneasy trepidation, what will be the next disaster in the world, and I pray…    

Isn’t it an interesting coincidence that the appearance of this years two Blood Moons happens just before YHWH’s very important 1^st and 7^th months of HIS calendar year?  Is it a heavenly sign that these are spiritual messages from YHWH pointing to the significance of HIS ways, HIS Words, HIS Calendar and Holy Days?  The Prophet Jeremiah (12:2) wrote, "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them."  It is also interesting to note, that YHWH’s Judgment Day is on the 10^th day after the 7^th new moon.  I can’t help but wonder, is YAHWEH telling the nations to change their ways before more disasters happen?

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves,

and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways,

then I will hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  - 2Chr.7:14
